A RESOLUTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW ¾ TON 4 WHEEL
DRIVE PICKUP TRUCK AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
Whereas, the State of Ohio through O.R.C. Section 5513.01(B) authorizes municipal
corporations without public bidding to participate in contacts of the Ohio
Department of Transportation for the purchase of vehicles, machinery, material,
supplies or other articles;
Whereas, the Council of the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio, has authorized
participation in Ohio Department of Transportation;
Whereas, the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio is in need of a new 4 wheel
drive pickup truck for the Fire Department to replace the old grass fire truck,
to be used as a primary off road fire protection piece of equipment.
Whereas, Nelson Auto Group, 15777 Watkins Road Marysville, Ohio 43040 has
been awarded pursuant to said O.R.C.5513.01 (B) program the State of Ohio
Bid Contract Number OT905801 and OT905901, dated September 18, 2000, item
15-TRUCK,8600 GVW, MIN, 2001 HEAVY DUTY PICKUP, 4 WHEEL DRIVE.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE,
STATE of OHIO as follows;
Section 1. That the council hereby authorizes said
purchase of the 2001 pickup truck, in the amount of
$24,716.00, from Nelson Auto Group.
Section 2. That the Village Administrator and/or
Clerk-Treasure shall be and herewith authorized to prepare and sign all documents
necessary to make said order and purchase with Nelson
Auto Group.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be and herewith
is declared an emergency measure, necessary for the health, and welfare of
the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio. The emergency being
the need for delivery of the truck prior to grass fire season.
