AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHARGES FOR VEHICLE FIRES AND
OTHER RUNS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Village of West Lafayette makes numerous fire runs responding
to vehicle accidents;
WHEREAS, the Village of West Lafayette makes numerous fire runs responding
to reported fires and other instances involving dwellings and other buildings;
WHEREAS, it is desired to clarify and amend Ordinance No. 65-99;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE,
STATE OF OHIO, as follows:
1. The Fire Department shall be and herewith
is authorized and instructed to charge $250.00 per vehicle involved for each
run made in response to incidents involving vehicles;
2. The Fire Department shall be and herewith is authorized and instructed
to charge $250.00 for each fire response regarding buildings or structures;
3. Ordinance No. 65-99 shall be and herewith
is amended in conformity herewith;
4. This Ordinance shall be and herewith is declared
to be an emergency, the emergency being the necessity of protecting the lives
and properties of the citizens and residents of the Village of West Lafayette
and surrounding vicinity from fires and other casualties and hazards and
to provide finances to the fire department of the Village of West Lafayette
so as to allow it to function, to protect the lives and safety of individuals
and their property, and this Ordinance shall be and therefore is declared
to be an emergency Ordinance to take effect immediately upon passage by Council.
