AN ORDINANCE AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PHASE III WATERLINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the Village of West Lafayette has advertised for bids as required by law for a the Phase III Waterline Replacement;

WHEREAS, the Village of West Lafayette has opened the bids duly received pursuant to said advertisement for Phase III Waterline Replacement;

WHEREAS, Cherokee Excavating Inc. has submitted the lowest and best bid for the waterline replacement project as per the specifications in the bid packet by GGC Engineering Inc.,

project # 99199;

WHEREAS, the Village of West Lafayette has found the need to continue the water line replacement plan to respond to the health and safety needs of our community;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE, STATE OF OHIO as follows:

1. The Village Administrator and Clerk shall be and herewith are authorized to enter into a contract agreement with Cherokee Excavating Inc., for the Phase III Waterline Replacement Project.

2. The Contract amount shall be for One Hundred Seventy Six Thousand One Hundred Ninety Dollars. (176,190.00) and include all labor and materials to complete to project as specified;

3. This ordinance shall be and hereby is declared to be an emergency ordinance necessary to preserve the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the Village of West Lafayette, the emergency at hand being the need to award the contract so that construction  can begin and be completed before the winter weather sets in, and said Ordinance shall therefore take effect immediately upon passage by Council.
