AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE YEAR 2002 PAY SCALE FOR ADMINISTRATIVE AND OFFICE EMPLOYEES OF THE VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE, OHIO, AND TO REPEAL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH

WHEREAS, in order to compensate the Administrative and Office Employees of the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio, properly, and to adjust the Village Administrator’s pay rate in line with adjustments to other employees, it is necessary to adjust and modify the pay scales, in order to have satisfactory rates for calendar year 2002;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the Village of West Lafayette, State of Ohio, as follows:

Section I:  The rates of compensation for Administrative and office employees of the Village of West Lafayette, effective December 30, 2001, shall be and herewith are established as follows:

     Village Administrator      $37,726.00 annual     paid biweekly

     Administrative Assistant  $9.60 per hour      Permanent Full or Part Time

     Billing Clerk Class II       $9.60 per hour      Permanent Full or Part Time

     Meter Reader Class II         $10.78 per hour    Permanent Full Time

     Meter Reader Class I     $7.85 per hour      Permanent Part Time

SECTION II:  Temporary part time employees shall be and herewith are defined as those employees that work thirty (30) hours or less in a scheduled work week. Temporary part time employees shall not be permitted to work in excess of thirty (30) hours per week unless approved by Village Council. With Village Council’s approval temporary part time employees may work up to six weeks in excess of thirty (30) hours per week. Such work in excess of six weeks shall not be approved.

SECTION  III:  All provisions of Ordinances and Resolutions inconsistent with the provisions herein shall be and herewith are amended to the extent they otherwise would be applicable to the pay rates of the above pay categories and classifications on and after January 1, 2002, otherwise however, they shall remain in full force and effect.
