AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT THE 2002 PAY SCALE FOR THE STREET,
WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES OF THE VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE, OHIO,
AND TO AMEND ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTION IN CONFLICT THEREWITH
WHEREAS, in order to compensate the employees of the Street, Water and Sewer
Departments of the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio, properly it is necessary
to adjust and modify the pay scales for the various positions and classes
of the Street, Water, and Sewer Departments of the Village of West Lafayette,
Ohio, in order to have satisfactory compensation for the calendar year 2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the Village of West Lafayette,
State of Ohio, as follows:
SECTION I: The rates of compensation for the various positions and classes
of the Street, Water and Sewer Departments of the Village of West Lafayette,
Ohio, effective December 30, 2001, shall be and herewith are established as
follows:
Water & Sewer Superintendent $12.57 Permanent Full Time
Laborers:
Class III Labor / Foreman $11.37 Permanent Full Time
Class III Labor $10.78 Permanent Full
Time
Class II Labor $10.10 Probationary
Period Prior
To Permanent Full Time
Class I Labor $8.35 Temporary
or Permanent
Part
Time
SECTION II: That there be and herewith provided the following incentive
pay provision for any employee of the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio, who
successfully completes the training required and passes the require examinations
to obtain a Class I, Class II, or Class III operators license for water or
wastewater treatment plants. The pay rate for said employee shall be increased
by an additional $.25 (25 cents) per hour above the rates provided in SECTION
I above or such other ordinance dictating the employee’s current pay rate.
SECTION III: Temporary part time employees shall be and herewith are defined
as those employees that work thirty (30) hours or less in a scheduled work
week. Temporary part time employees shall not be permitted to work in excess
of thirty (30) hours per week unless approved by Village Council. With Village
Council’s approval temporary part time employees may work up to six weeks
in excess of thirty (30) hours per week. Such work in excess of six weeks
shall not be approved.
SECTION IV: All provisions of Ordinances and Resolutions inconsistent with
the provisions herein shall be and herewith are amended to the extent they
otherwise would be applicable to the pay rates of the above pay categories
and classifications on and after January 1, 2002, otherwise however, they
shall remain in full force and effect.
