Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on February 25, 2002

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack Patterson presiding.

Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Jan Shannon and

Steve Bordenkircher (4 members present)

A motion was made and seconded to excuse council members Warne and Shannon from the meeting. (R.C. 4 yes)

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the February 25, 2002, council meeting. (R.C. 4 yes)

Reports:

Administrator – If the weather permits East Main Street and Johnson Road could be paved this week finishing the water main replacement project. The VA has contacted ODOT to inquire when the east end of Main Street (SR 93) would be paved. He was informed it was not on the schedule for this year or next. He will get an estimate for repairing the indentations from the Phase 2 water main replacement project. There was a brief discussion regarding the guidelines developed by the Mayor and VA for public use of the Time Warner Community Board System (channel 6). It was agreed it would be for non-profit groups and community service organizations only. All request are to be handled by the Administrative Assistant. The VA will be meeting with a Patterson Pool representative this week to get another estimate on repairing the pool. He will report to the pool committee at their next meeting.

            Police (Chief) – Gave monthly report for February that is attached to and made part of these minutes.

            Pool (Rogers) – At their meeting last week they decided to open the pool this summer if at all possible. It will be necessary to start immediately to secure funding to do the majors repairs needed prior to the 2003 season.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn until the next regularly scheduled meeting on March 25, 2002, at 7:00 PM in the council chambers. (R.C. 4 yes)
