Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on March 25, 2002

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack Patterson presiding.

Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Jan Shannon and

Steve Bordenkircher (5 members present)

A motion was made and seconded to excuse council member Warne from the meeting.

(R.C. 5 yes)

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes from the March 11, 2002, council meeting with a correction to the heading date. (R.C. 4 yes 1 abstain)

Resolutions:   RESOLUTION TO AMEND 2002 PERMANENT APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE 2001-46, ADDING $11.000 TO THE WATER FUND TO REPAIR EAST MAIN WHERE WATER MAIN WAS REPLACED. A motion was made and seconded to suspend the rules. (R.C. 5 yes) A motion was made and seconded to adopt Res. 2002-06.

(R.C. 5 yes)

Reports:

            Village Administrator – Gloria Murray is doing well after her surgery and should be back to work in 3 or 4 weeks. The estimate for the repair of East Main Street was a little over $10,000 for a 1 ¼” layer over the sunken part.

            Finance (clerk) – Provided the council members and mayor with a spreadsheet that summarizes the village debt position.

            Grant (Lusk) – The fire department is applying for a FEMA grant to upgrade some equipment.

            Pool (Rogers) – At the committee meeting last week they prepared the admission rates and operation hours for the 2002 season. A motion was made and seconded to approve the proposed admission and pay rates for the 2002 season. (R.C. 5 yes) A motion was made and seconded to approve the proposed hours of operation for the 2002 season. (R.C. 5 yes)

            Utility (Bordenkircher) – The committee is scheduling a session with the assistant fire chief to perform pressure tests on a random selection of hydrants.

A motion was made and seconded to approve payment of the bills as presented. (R.C. 5 yes)

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn until the next regularly scheduled meeting on

April 8, 2002, at 7:00 P.M. in council chambers. (R.C. 5 yes)
