AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT YEAR 2002 PAY SCALE FOR THE SWIMMING
POOL OPERATIONS OF THE VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE, OHIO; TO REPEAL ORDINANCES
AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, in order to compensate the employees and officials
operating the Swimming Pool operations of the Village of West Lafayette, State
of Ohio, properly, it is necessary to clarify the pay scale for the various
classes and ranks of the Swimming Pool operations of the Village of West Lafayette,
in order to have satisfactory rates for the calendar year 2002.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE, STATE OF OHIO, as follows:
Section I:
The rates of compensation of various officials and employees of the Swimming
Pool operations of the Village of West Lafayette, effective May 1, 2002, shall be
and herewith established as follows:
Swimming Pool Manager
$3300.00 per season
Assistant Pool Manager
$5.50 per hour
4th Year or more Lifeguard
$5.75 per hour
3rd Year Lifeguard
$5.50 per hour
2nd Year Lifeguard
$5.25 per hour
1st Year Lifeguard
$5.00 per hour
Section II:
All previous Ordinances and Resolutions inconsistent with the previous herein
shall be and herewith are amended to the extent they otherwise would be applicable
to the pay rates of the above pay categories and classifications on May 1,
2002; otherwise however, they shall remain in full force and effect.
Section III:
This Ordinance shall be and herewith is declared an emergency measure, necessary
for the health and welfare of the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio. The emergency
being the need to provide for proper pay scale so as to allow the functioning
and continuation of the Swimming Pool operations of the Village of West Lafayette,
State of Ohio, so as to ensure proper operations of the pool for the citizens
of the Village of West Lafayette. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon passage by council.
