A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE APPLICATION FOR
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the state of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of
Natural Resources, Administers financial assistance for public
recreation purposes, through the federal Land and
Water Conservation Fund Program and/or the State of Ohio NatureWorks,
and
WHEREAS, the VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE desires financial assistance
under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program.;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Village of West Lafayette
as follows:
SECTION I: That the Village of West Lafayette approves filing
an application for Land and Water Conservation Fund financial assistance.
SECTION II: That Mr. Thomas V. Bradshaw, Village Administrator,
is hereby authorized and directed to execute and file an application
with the Ohio Department of Natural
Resources and to provide all information to become eligible
for possible funding assistance.
SECTION III: That the Village of West Lafayette does agree
to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the
proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under
the terms and conditions of the Land and Water Conservation
Fund Program.
SECTION IV: This resolution shall be an emergency measure,
the emergency being the need to submit an application prior
to the July 1, 2002, application deadline, therefore providing
for the welfare and safety of the residents of the Village of
West Lafayette and patrons of the West Lafayette swimming pool.
Therefore this resolution shall take effect and be in full force
immediately upon passage by Council.
