West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.

A motion
was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the April 12, 2004 council
meeting. (RC 6 yes)

VA Refund for building permit to Ed Myers ($141.50)
A motion was made and seconded to approve the
refund. (RC 6 yes)
Received updated insurance quote. New quote is
$31,402 adding insurance for forgery, money securities, employee theft,
computer theft, ect. OML received our letter stating our intent not to
renew with them.

App (Lusk) Working on Issue II
Insurance (Gossett) Met on the 15th. Agreed on Clarion
National Insurance. Recommended to council to proceed with Clarion National
Insurance Company. With adding an additional 1 million dollars coverage and
money security issues the village still saves $11,000.00.
A motion was made (a first for Gossett) and
seconded to approve the recommendation. (RC 6 yes)
Ordinance (Warne) Set meeting to look over future recommended
ordinances
P.C. Meeting with County Planning Commission
Pool (Warne) Information package with recommendations
setting pool wages, rates, hours of operations for 2004. The pool will be
closed on Labor Day, the same as last year. A motion was made and seconded
to approve the recommendations. (RC 6 yes) Have 8 applications for
lifeguards and 4 applications for Assistant Manager. The committee has
narrowed it down to 2 applications and Rogers will met with VA to discuss.
Pool Manager is Carol Wears. Rogers talked with Kathy Thompson regarding
formula money and funding options also with Mike Carder.
Chamber (Maurer) Yard Sales and Homecoming
Utility N/A
Zoning N/A
Clerks Met with Mike Carder up-to-date with OWDA & OP Works.
Also met with Nancy from State Auditors office. Everything is OK.
Other Discussed spring clean up day for the Village. Junk
Cars – removed 53 last year. Also discussed old houses that need torn
down. Ron to talk with Care Center regarding broken drain.
