West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll
Call: Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Christie
Maurer and Stephen Bordenkircher were present.
A motion
was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the May 10, 2004 council
meeting. (RC 6 yes)
Mayor’s
Correspondence – none
Citizens’
comments – Larry Everett spoke regarding more respect for handicapped.
Requested handicap signs for in front of his house, 105 W Main Street. Also,
looking for someone to mow his yard. Scott Johnson, American Precision
Surveying, requested a lot split be approved. A motion was made and
seconded to approve the lot split. (RC 6 yes)
Reports:

Working with finance chairman on budget. Street vehicle should be in the
week of the 23rd. Improvements to State Route 93 starting.
Police

Annexation (Lusk) Meeting with County Commissioners
CS (Maurer) Newsletter going out.
The Mayor requested at signs be posted at Burt Park in the pavilion stating
By reservation only with phone number to call to make reservation.
Finance
(Bordenkircher) Set meeting. Bordenkircher to meet with Fiscal Officer on
Wednesday to start working on reports for budget

Grant
App. (Lusk) Issue II and formula grants
Insurance (Gossett) NA Mayor stated that he received letter from
Accordia requesting declaration page. Letter given to VA
Ordinance(Warne) Committee to review new ordinances to present at next
council meeting.
PC
(Lusk) NA
Pool
(Rogers) Pool painted last Friday. Started filling 5/24/04, should finish
Wednesday. Inspection on Friday. Open Saturday. 39 pool passes have been
sold as of 5/24.
Chamber
(Maurer) Strawberry Festival June 12th. Homecoming July
14-17.
Utility
(Lusk) Mayor received letter from Coshocton County Commissioners
requesting an appointment by June 10th from the Mayor to a new
Water and Sewer Advisory Board. This board will oversee any problems with
water and sewer in the county and also advise the Fresno and North Corridor
projects. After discussion about qualifications, compensation, employees of
the village, time commitments, it was decided that the Mayor would contact
the Commissioners and request more details concerning the board and ask for
an extension for an appointment until next village council meeting, June 14th.
Zoning
(Lusk) Met with Zoning Board of Appeals for a meet and greet.
Clerk
Went to Tax training in Dayton, June 19th and 20th.
Found part of tax program regarding form letters to delinquent payers has
been deleted from computer. CMI to get quotes for reinstallation. CMI to
get quotes for upgrade to client server. Acuterm installed on laptop. Lusk
requested that Prater attend grant writing classes.
Other
New welcome signs made by Chris McVay are being placed at
entrances to Village. Signs look great. Question asked if water bills are
ever estimated.
