Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on October 11, 2004

 

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson presiding.

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Christie Maurer and Stephen Bordenkircher were present.

 

A motion was made and seconded to excuse member Roger Warne from the meeting. (RC 5 yes)

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the September 27, 2004 council meeting. (RC 5 yes)

Police:  N/A

Community Service:  Several comments have been made on how nice the banners look.

Finance:  N/A

Fire:   Sept fire run report

Ordinance: 

Planning Commission:  Public hearing set for October 18th at 6:30 pm

Pool:  Questioned whether or not the pool has been winterized.  Rogers to check with VA

Rep to Chamber of Commerce:  October 23rd Community Halloween Party at Burt Park from 3:00 to 5:00 pm

Utility:   N/A

Zoning:  N/A

Clerk’s report:   Received cost proposals for audit.  Clerk will finalize evaluation form and write letter to State Auditor’s Office with recommendation.    Asked for a motion to pay special bill regarding travel for Police Department.  Discussion was held regarding how meal expenses are paid.  It was decided that only the Mayor, VA and Village CFO use the Mastercard.  Others will pay for meals out of pocket  then request for reimbursement.  A motion was made and seconded to approve payment of Home Loan Mastercard bill. (RC 5 yes).  Clerk will be attending Ohio Police and Fire Conference in New Philadelphia, October 20th, and attending a Continuing Education Seminar in Columbus, October 21st

Other Business:    The need for painting crosswalks within the village was discussed. Several locations were stated that needs painting.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the payment of bills as presented.

(RC 5 yes)

 

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn until the next regular meeting on October 25, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. (RC 5 yes)
