WHEREAS
the Village of West Lafayette, Coshocton County, is vulnerable to
natural hazards like flooding, wind and weather hazards, drought,
earthquakes, wildfires, landslides, and human-caused hazards that can result
in property loss, loss of life, economic hardship and threats to public
health and safety,
WHEREAS a Coshocton County Hazard Vulnerability
Assessment and Mitigation Plan has been developed by Coshocton County Hazard
Mitigation Planning Core Committee and the people of the County,
WHEREAS the Coshocton County Hazard
Vulnerability Assessment and Mitigation Plan recommends mitigation
activities that will reduce losses to life and property affected by the
natural hazards that face the Village of West Lafayette, and
WHEREAS a series of public meetings were held to
develop and review the plan,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of
the Village of West Lafayette that:
- The Coshocton County Hazard Vulnerability
Assessment and Mitigation Plan is hereby adopted as an official plan of
the Village of West Lafayette.
- By September 30 each year, the Coshocton County
Hazard Mitigation Planning Core Committee, shall prepare an annual
evaluation report to the Council of the Village of West Lafayette.
- The respective Village of West Lafayette officials
and agencies identified in the strategy of the Plan are hereby directed
to implement the recommended activities assigned to them. They will
consult semi-annually with the Coshocton County Hazard Mitigation
Project Planning Core Committee on the progress of their activities.
