Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on January 24, 2005

 

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson presiding.

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Christie Maurer and Stephen Bordenkircher were present.

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the January 10, 20054 council meeting. (RC 6 yes)

 

Mayor’s Correspondence –  Letter from OWDA stating that because of state of emergency help can be provided by OWDA regarding a total of two (2) loan payments.

                        Letter from Coshocton County Commissioners regarding 2005 Formula Grant projects listing items needed to apply for monies.  This needs to be complete by April 15th. The County should have $127,000.00 dollars available. 

Fire Chief, Gaylord Hill presented council with the 2004 annual report for the fire department. The department is working with FEMA on getting repeating tower up.  Also working on obtaining grants.

Reports:

Village Administrator:   (Brownfield) Correspondence from Chris Osborne, village has phase II sampling and Application should be turned in by late Feb. or early March.

Police:  N/A

Annexation:  N/A

Community Service:  Newsletter items need to be turned in to Maurer.

Finance:   Received information from County Auditor regarding local government fund.  Auditor’s office is only certifying the 1st six months. This means a cut of $25,877.00 to General Fund. Concern of waiting until July to see what happens.

Fire:   N/A

Fire Dependency Board:   N/A

Grant Applications:  Only project is 6th street paving.  Council stated that grant applications that required matching funds cannot be applied for.

Insurance:   N/A

Ordinance:  N/A

Planning Commission:  N/A

Pool:   Met last Thursday to review 2004.  Looking at several options. 

Rep to Chamber of Commerce:  N/A

Utility:  N/A

Zoning:  N/A

Clerk’s report:   Fiscal year 2004 closed. Reports are available for inspection.  Tax forms have been mailed.

 

 

Committee Meetings:  Pool                        February 10th                         6:00 pm

                                    Finance            February 14th               6:00 pm

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the payment of bills as presented.

(RC 6 yes)

 

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn until the next regular meeting on February 14, 2005 at 7:00 P.M. (RC 6 yes)
