Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on February 13, 2006

 

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson presiding.

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Christie Maurer and Gary Loos were present.

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the January 23, 2006 council meeting. (RC 6 yes)

 

Mayor’s Correspondence – AAA Region 9 - Setting focus group meetings Feb 16th at Coshocton County Senior Center 1:00pm-3:00pm.

                        Ohio Consumer Council – 30th Anniversary and requesting letters from communities they have helped for a scrapbook.

                        Coshocton County Commissioners – Funding for formula grant monies with application deadline of April 15th.

                        State Senator George Voinovich – Federal grants

                        Ohio Dept of Health – Healthy Ohioan Award application due May 30th. Fitness Walk May 17th.

 

 

Citizens’ comments –  Bob Weir, Candidate for County Commissioner.

Ordinance:  Police Chief Bradshaw spoke with Solicitor regarding noise ordinance.

Rep to Chamber of Commerce:   Banquet was held on the 9th with the Chamber honoring Christi Patterson, Sue Chapdaline and Rotary for community service. Yellow Flag Sales, May 5-6; Strawberry Festival, June 17th; Homecoming, June 21-24.

Building:   N/A

Clerk’s report:  Monthly revenue and expense reports were given.  Year-end Financial report has been sent to Auditor of State. Fiscal Officer to check for membership with Ohio Association of Public Treasurers.  Tax returns are starting to come in.

 

Other Business:  Council observed a moment of silence in memory of Jack Mardis, a long-time village employee that passed away.

                        Council urged to support Kirk drain project.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the payment of bills as presented.
