West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.

was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the March 27, 2006 council
meeting. (RC 6 yes)

Reports:
Village Administrator: Park ready for season.
Bathrooms fixed and installing new ceiling tiles. Purchased three (3) new
tables and looking for chairs. Formula grant for paving projects to
Commissioners office. Street crew has been busy cleaning streets. Served
notices regarding two (2) buildings on Main Street. Discussed potholes on 4th
and Center Street.

Noise meters are in. New phone lines were installed in
police building. Police department is on-line for state reporting. Ohio
Police Chiefs Association provided computer system and will reimburse for
Internet service for three (3) years.

Community Service: Spring flower baskets are
up.
Finance: Met and discussed bids for new roof on
the fire department. A motion was made and seconded to accept the bid from
Meek Construction in the amount of $6,149.77. (RC 6 yes)
Fire: N/A
Fire Dependency Board: N/A
Grant Applications: Looking for future grants
for sewer extension. VA to check with engineer for estimated costs.
Insurance: N/A
Ordinance: N/A
Planning Commission: N/A
Pool: Have received some applications for
lifeguards. Checking into quotes for paint.
Rep to Chamber of Commerce: Yellow Flag Sales:
May 5th & 6th to sign up contact Debi Rogers or Ed
Chapdelaine. Those who sign up will be entered in a drawing for $25.00;
Strawberry Festival: June 17th.
Utility: Met and discussed possible sewer
rates. VA to speak with Commissioners to get an estimate of number of people
that sewer will serve. Committee felt it would be best to use bulk rate and
then review in six (6) months.
Building: N/A
Clerk’s report: Monthly expense and revenue
reports available for review. Received notice from Ohio Department of
Commerce, Division of State Fire Marshal regarding training grant
application. Village will receive reimbursement of $500.00. Notice to
enroll for group rates with Gates McDonald - Workers Compensation. A motion
was made and seconded to enroll. (RC 6 yes). Prater gave a review of
grant-writing workshop she attended March 30th. Prater gave
council information from Ohio Municipal League concerning the Tax
Expenditure Limitation
