West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.

Maurer and Gary Loos were present.
A motion
was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the May 22, 2006 council
meeting. (RC 6 yes)
Mayor’s
Correspondence – Coshocton County Emergency Management – Contingency Plan
needs to be completed by August 2006.
Home Loan & Savings – Invitation to preview ACH
origination services offered on June 15th at 9:00 am. Prater to
attend.
Owens & Manning – Regarding
Ohio Central Railroad. They will clean right-of-way as soon as possible.
John Korns is the new contact.
Coshocton County
Commissioners – Notice of auction to be held on August 3rd. If
the village is interested in participating the list of items to be auctioned
needs to be to the Commissioners by June 30th.
Owens & Manning – Regarding
ordinance draft.

Reports:
Village Administrator: Mosquito spraying will
be the 14th and 28th. Letter from Fred Watchel
regarding paving project (200 block of W 5th, W Platt and 100
block of S Wall) with Ohio Public Works. Estimates have increased. CCR
reports have been printed and will be distributed before July 1st.
Estimate of $216,886.00 from Harold Hitchens for sewer expansion on Johnson
and Wall Streets.

Police Chief gave an overview of the crime mapping
capability of new program.
Annexation: N/A
Community Service: Maurer asked that baskets on
Main Street be taken down so she can replace flowers.
Finance: Met and worked on budget.
Fire: 18 fire runs in May. New roof on station
is completed.
Fire Dependency Board: N/A
Grant Applications: Issue II meeting
Insurance: N/A
Ordinance: Draft ordinance back from Owens.
Planning Commission: N/A
Pool: Pool opened on schedule. Struggling
with chlorine levels. VA and foreman have been working hard to correct
problems. Discussion of pool issues including leaks, Job and Family
Services passes, ice machine broken, painting and sandblasting. Lusk asked
about a discount to village employees for passes. After discussion, it was
the general consensus that no discounts should be offered.
Rep to Chamber of Commerce: Strawberry Festival
– June 17th. Homecoming June 21st-24th.
Some rides are being set up now.
Utility: N/A
Building: N/A
Clerk’s
report: Monthly revenue and expense reports are available. New
postage meter installed and working well. Prater will be attending Ohio
Public Finance Officers training next week. Fiscal Officer gave council
information on CMI upgrade.
