Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on  August 14,  2006

 

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson presiding.

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers, Roger Warne,  Ron Lusk, Christie Maurer and Gary Loos were present.

 

A motion was made and seconded to excuse member Kelly Gossett from the meeting. (RC 5 yes)

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the July 24, 2006 council meeting. (RC 5 yes)

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the August 4, 2006 special council meeting (RC 5 yes)

Citizens’ comments – N/A

 

Introduction to ordinances and resolutions:

2006-11: ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 2005-20 TO PROVIDE FOR SALARY FOR FISCAL OFFICER. A motion was made and seconded to suspend the rules (RC 5 yes). A motion was made and seconded to adopt 2006-11 (RC 5 yes).

 

Reports:

 

Village Administrator: Paving projects are finished.

Police:  Monthly Report.

Annexation: N/A

Community Service: N/A

Finance:  N/A

Fire: 21 runs for month of July. Requested to use house for training.

Fire Dependency Board: N/A

Grant Applications: Working on Phase II.  Extension for Johnson and Wall Street.

Insurance: N/A

Ordinance: N/A

Planning Commission: N/A

Pool: Operations are going well at the pool. Revenues are ahead of expenditures at this point. Pool party August 17, 2006 6:30 – 8:30. One season pass will be given as a door prize.

 

 

Rep to Chamber of Commerce: The Chamber is NOT sponsoring the Yellow Flag Day sales in the Fall. August 19, 2006 is Gospel Night at the Baptist Church. The Chamber moved from the Main Street office. The Chamber meetings are 4th Tuesday in September at the community eat stand.

Utility: N/A

Building: N/A

Clerk’s report: Monthly expense & revenue report.

 

Other Business: Annin Flag Company welcomes Council to tour operations. Jones Metal also welcomes council to tour plant in 3 – 4 weeks. OPERS rating went up.

 

Committee Meetings:

Finance Committee                                  Monday August 21, 2006 at 6:00pm.

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the payment of bills as presented.

(RC 5 yes)

 

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn until the next regular meeting on September 11, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. (RC 5 yes)
