Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on September 11, 2006

 

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson presiding.

 

Pledge of Allegiance

 

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Christie Maurer and Gary Loos were present.

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the August 28, 2006 council meeting. (RC 6 yes)

 

Mayor’s Correspondence – N/A

 

Citizens’ comments –D. Curtis Lee introduced himself to the council. He is currently running for County Commissioner.

 

Introduction to ordinances and resolutions: 2006-13 ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 2005-20 TO SEPARATE THE POSITIONS OF POLICE CHIEF AND VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR AND TO ADD A CLASSIFICATION OF WATER/SEWER ATTENDANT. First reading given.

Finance: Will meet again to determine were to collect the money for the software upgrade due this year.

Fire: There were 10 runs in August. The new life-saving alarms were demonstrated to the council. The department was very thankful to the Veterans Organization for help purchasing these life-saving alarms for the department. Christie Hill was recognized as a new volunteer firefighter. The Fireman’s fall festival is Sunday September 17th 12 – 6pm.

Rep to Chamber of Commerce: There will be a meeting held on September 26th at the eat-stand. Halloween party for the kids is on October 28th.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the payment of bills as presented.
