West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll
Call: Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, and
Christie Maurer were present.
A motion
was made by Ron Lusk and seconded by council member Gossett to excuse
council member Loos from the meeting. (RC 5 yes)
A motion
was made by council member Lusk and seconded by Roger Warne to approve the
minutes of the September 25, 2006 council meeting. (RC 5 yes)
Mayor’s Correspondence – The Mayor read the No.
9 Legislative Bulletin informing the council members of the issues to appear
on the ballot, information concerning estate tax, and local government
funds.

Introduction to ordinances and resolutions:
2006-14 RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT AMOUNTS AND RATES AS
DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION. A motion was made by council
member Rogers and seconded by council member Gossett to suspend the rules.
(RC 5 yes) Motion made by council member Lusk and seconded by council member
Rogers to adopt Resolution 2006-14. (RC 5 yes)
2006-15 RESOLUTION TO AMEND THE 2006 PERMANENT
APPROPIATIONS ORDINANCE 2005-22, ADDING FUNDS. A motion was made by
council member Lusk and seconded by council member Gossett to suspend the
rules. (RC 5 yes) Motion made by council member Rogers and seconded by
council member Lusk to adopt Resolution 2006-15. (RC 5 yes)
2006-16 RESOLUTION TO TRANSFER MONIES. A motion
was made by council member Lusk and seconded by council member Rogers to
suspend the rules. (RC 5 yes) Motion made by council member Lusk and
seconded by council member Rogers to adopt Resolution 2006-14. (RC 5 yes)
Reports:
Village Administrator:
Reported that the Ohio EPA will begin preparing test sites by the end of the
month. The VA received two equipment repair request for backhoe and GMC
pickup truck.
Police: Discussion to place West
Lafayette police report in the media.
Annexation: N/A
Community Service: N/A
Finance: N/A
Fire: Reported 8 runs for the month,
most were accidents and 1 fire.
Fire Dependency Board: N/A
Grant Applications: N/A
Insurance: N/A
Ordinance: Committee
met on October 2nd and finished wage ordinance. Ready for first
reading.
Planning Commission: N/A
Pool: Discussion of
having a new roof put on the pool in the spring. The building trades at the
Coshocton County Career Center plans to do the replacement.
Rep to Chamber of Commerce:
Halloween party in the park is Saturday, October 28th starting at
4:00 pm. The costume parade will begin at 4:30. There will be a
pumpkin-carving contest along with games and food.

Clerk’s report:
Reported that the training in Columbus that Pam M. and Lisa W. attended was
very beneficial. Clerk also reported that she and Pam would begin cross
training next week.
Committee
Meetings:
The Ordinance Committee will
meet on October 16, 2006 at 6:00 pm.
The Finance Committee will meet on October
23, 2006 at 6:00 pm.
The Fire Committee will meet on October 11,
2006 at 7:00 pm.
A motion was made by council member Lusk and seconded
by council member Rogers to approve the payment of bills as presented.

October 23, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. (RC 5 yes)
