Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on February 26, 2007

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson presiding.

Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call:          Dave Rogers,  Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, and Christie Maurer were present.

A motion was made and seconded to excuse council member Roger Warne and Gary Loos from the meeting. (RC 4 yes)

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the February 12, 2007 council meeting. (RC 4 yes)

Mayor’s Correspondence – Brief reading of the January Ohio Municipal League Legislative Bulletin.

Citizens’ comments – N/A

Introduction to ordinances and resolutions: N/A

Reports:

Village Administrator: VA reported a sewer back up on February 18^tth

Affecting the south end of town, the Coshocton Medical Services Building on the Corner of Main Street and Ripple Lane was directly affected by the back up. Tom and John worked 12 hours to fix this problem. Rags and o-rings were found to be the main reason for the blockage.

            Community Service: Newsletters are in the mail.

Finance: Mayor announced that Lisa received her 6 months performance review and recommended to council a $1,500 raise effective February 18th. Council member Lusk made a motion to amend Ordinance 2007-01. Council member Maurer seconded this motion. (RC 4 yes)

            Fire: 17 runs reported for January.

Clerk’s report: Lisa reported that 2006 tax returns are still coming in very steady. Lisa will attend a 2 days conference in Columbus offered by Local Government Services. Training will include legal and audit updates, OWDA and OPWC loan information and other various job related training. 

Committee Meetings:

Pool Committee             03/06/07 @ 6 p.m.

A motion was made by council member Lusk and seconded by council member Gossett to approve the payment of bills as presented. (RC 4 yes)

A motion was made by council member Lusk and seconded by council member Maurer to adjourn until the next regular meeting on March 12, 2007 at 7:00 P.M. (RC 4 yes)
