Record of Proceedings
West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll
Call: Dave Rogers, Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Christie
Maurer and Gary Loos were present.
A motion
was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the March 26, 2007 council
meeting. (RC 6 yes)
Mayor’s
Correspondence – Mayor read a letter from T.J. Justice, Executive Director
of the Coshocton City/County Port Authority, expressing his appreciation to
Mayor and Council for the wonderful visit to the village. T.J. said that he
plans to visit this area more frequently. Mayor also read a letter from Time
Warne Cable outlining their products and services provided to their
customers such as entertainment, information and communications choices.
Citizens’
comments – Diane Merrill asking if council is interested in combining
efforts with the Ridgewood Football Boosters for a village cleanup day.
After much discuss, council reached an agreement to see how much community
interest there is this year and perhaps be involved in this activity next
year if funds permit.

Reports:
Village Administrator:
VA reported that the Formula Grant is turned in. Also reported improvements
to the parking lot for the fire department including limestone and outlined
with railroad timbers. After limestone settles, more will be added if
necessary. VA received a few inquires and offers concerning the dump truck
after the bid date expired. VA asked council if they want to advertise and
re-bid or get a trade in value from Southeastern and possible trade for
another piece of street equipment. Council agrees to not re-bid and have Tom
talk to Southeastern about a potential trade in.

Community Service: N/A
Finance: N/A
Fire: Monthly reports. A total of 12
runs for the month of March were reported. In addition, committee chairman
reported that a volunteer fireman was injured during a call on April 5th.
After being transported and treated at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital,
the volunteer received several stitches to his head. He was released and no
time missed from his original job was reported.

Insurance: Notifying Scott Marshall
to rewrite policy and receive a quote.
Planning Commission: N/A
Pool: Opening June 9th. Admission
for the 2007 season will not increase. Committee recommends an increase in
wages for the manager and assistant manager. Solicitor Bill Owens said that
students working part-time as lifeguards are exempt from the minimum wage
increase. Council member Loos made a motion to accept all recommendations of
the pool committee concerning the 2007 pool season. Council member Gossett
seconded this motion. (RC 6 yes)
Rep to Chamber of Commerce: Yellow
Flag Days are May 4th and 5th. Deadline to sign up to
be on the map is April 21st. Contact Debbie Rogers or Christy
Maurer.

Clerk’s report: Exit conference for
the 2005/2006 Audit is scheduled with Ken Phillips from Wolfe, Wilson, and
Phillips at 9:00 am on Wednesday April 11th. All council members
are welcomed to attend.
