Minutes of West Lafayette Village Council Regular Meeting on March 24, 2008

West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson presiding.

Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call:          Roger Warne, Kelly Gossett, Ron Lusk, Christie Maurer and Gary Loos were present.

A motion was made and seconded to excuse council member Dave Rogers from the meeting. (RC 5 yes)

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the March 10, 2008 regular               council meeting. (RC 4 yes 1Abstainded)

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the March 19, 2008 special council meeting. (RC 5 yes)

Mayor’s Correspondence – Letter from Ms. Shairer expressing her concerns with the geophysical testing that council approved at last council meeting.

Reports:

Village Administrator: The street department will begin filling potholes. Council would like to ask all residents to clean up around their homes in the month of April.

                   Police: N/A

                   Annexation: Committee met last week discussed the Happy Valley trailer park and Wendell Water’s property. 

                   Community Service: N/A

                   Finance: N/A

                   Fire: N/A

                   Fire Dependency Board: N/A

                   Grant Applications: Will begin working on collecting residential income surveys.

                   Insurance: Rinehart insurance will have medical and property quote sometime next week.

                   Ordinance: N/A

                   Planning Commission: N/A

                   Pool: Applied for federal grant through Zack Space’s office in Zanesville. Also received $15,000 grant from the Coshocton Foundation pending we receive the federal grant.

                   Rep to Chamber of Commerce: Yellow Flag Day Sales May 2^nd & 3^rd. August 1^st and 2^nd is the Home Town Festival. Meeting tomorrow night at Lafayette Pointe at 6:00 pm.

                   Utility: N/A

                   Building: N/A

                   Clerk’s report: Lisa will be attending the Local Government Officials’ Conference in Columbus this Thursday and Friday.

Committee Meetings:

Ordinance Committee     March 31^st 6:00 pm                         

A motion was made by Council Member Lusk and seconded by Council Member Loos to approve the payment of bills as presented.

(RC 5 yes)

A motion was made by Council Member Gossett and seconded by Council Member Maurer to adjourn until the next regular meeting on April 14, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. (RC 5 yes)
