West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.

Maurer and Gary Loos were present.
A motion
was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the August
25th council meeting. (RC 5 yes 1 Abstained)

Introduction to ordinances and resolutions:
2008-28 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE
AMOUNTS AND RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZING THE
NECESSARY TAX LEVIES AND CERTIFYING THEM TO THE COUNTY AUDITOR Rogers
made a motion to suspend the rules. Motion seconded by Lusk. (RC 6 yes).
Rogers made a motion to adopt Resolution 2008-28. Motion seconded by Loos.

2008-29 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE
WATER AND SEWER RATES, MISCELLANEOUS CHARGES AND FEES FOR 2008 FOR THE
VILLAGE OF WEST LAFAYETTE, OHIO, AMENDING ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTION IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Rogers made a motion to
suspend the rules. Motion seconded by Loos. (RC 6 yes) Loos made a motion to
adopt Ordinance 2008-29. Motion seconded by Gossett. (RC 6 yes)
Reports:
Village Administrator: VA
reported another good couple of weeks. No major break -downs of village
equipment. The roof on well house #2 was been repaired. The old holding tank
at the WWTP has been taken down and Gloria and Teri have been steadily
working on filling hole with dirt. John has been working on winterizing the
pool.
Police: Chief Mardis reported that he has
done some research on allowing golf carts allowed in the village. He is
going to present a sample ordinance to the committee for review.

Finance: Chairman Loos reported that the
committee met this evening and all finances are in good standing. Committee
is looking into some investment opportunities.

Insurance: Lisa reported that effective
Oct. 1, 2008 the health/dental insurance for the village employees will be
carried by Medical Mutual of the Ohio Plan.
Ordinance: Chairman Warne reported that the
committee is currently working on about 6 ordinances.

Rep to Chamber of Commerce: N/A

Building: N/A
Clerk’s report: Lisa reported that she
received information from Local Government Services offering continuing
education for fiscal officers. There is a 1day training class in Columbus
for $65 per person that Lisa would like to attend. Loos made a motion for
Lisa to attend this continuing education course provided by LGS. Motion
seconded by Lusk. (RC 6 yes)
