West Lafayette Village Council met in regular session
at 7:00 P.M., in the municipal building with Mayor Jack L. Patterson
presiding.

was made and seconded to excuse council member Lusk from the meeting. (RC 5

Mayor’s
Correspondence –
George Voinovich and the OPEA sent letter to
inform officials about a seminar available for management of local
governments to improve economic infrastructure development.

Introduction to ordinances and resolutions:
2008-37 ORDINANCE TO HIRE A
SOLICITOR FOR THE YEAR 2009
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
Rogers made a motion to
suspend the rules. Motion seconded by Warne. (RC 5 yes) Rogers made a
motion to adopt Ordinance 2008-37. Motion seconded by Warne. (RC 5 yes)
Reports:
Village Administrator: VA
reports that leaf pick-up is going well and plan to be finished the first
week of December. Closing on the Borden lot behind the fire station was last
week. The next step is to contact the utility companies before tearing down
the house and garage. Dave and Lisa attended FEMA meeting last week. The
village may be reimbursed up to 75% of cost associated with the windstorm in
September. Jed from Job and Family Services reported to VA that they haven’t
had much luck receiving any qualified candidates so far.
