Record of Ordinances ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH SANITARY SEWER AND WATER RATES
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of West Lafayette, State of Ohio as follows:
SECTION I. That effective March 1, 2008, the inside and outside sanitary sewer and water rates for the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio will be amended accordingly to the attached schedule which is incorporated herein by reference as though fully re-written.
SECTION II. That the water and sewer rates attached hereto reflect a two (2%) percent increase for water and a three (3%) percent increase for sanitary sewer.
SECTION III. That in the future commencing the first (1st) day of the calendar year the Village Administrator will have the duty and obligation upon the instruction of the Mayor to increase water rates and sanitary sewer rates yearly not to exceed an aggregate amount of five (5%) percent of the previous years rates. The increase will be effective January 1 of each year and will thereafter be ratified or modified at the first council meeting by Village of West Lafayette council.
SECTION IV. That this Ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary to preserve the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the Village of West Lafayette, Ohio, the emergency being the necessity of providing proper revenues and orderly administration of the water utilities, and shall take effect immediately upon passage by Council.
