Welcome to Village of West Lafayette Village of West Lafayette… A Great Place to Live!

In the Village of West Lafayette, we are defined less by boundaries on a map than by the sense of shared values our residents hold dear. Small town values, guided growth, preservation of historical, cultural, and natural heritage are just a few of the core principles that makes Village of West Lafayette a wonderful place to call home.

The Village of West Lafayette, Ohio, is located 2 miles South of the intersection of US Highway 36 and Ohio State Route 93 and 7 miles West of the intersection of Interstate Route 77 and US Highway 36.

West Lafayette was platted in 1850 by Robert Shaw and William Wheeler. It then consisted of 13 lots, eight north of Main Street and five south of Main Street. Today the village covers one square mile and contains some 10 miles of streets. The population has grown from 250 in 1881 to over 2300 today.
